e-FIR is an alternative facility for registering FIR, through which citizens can file their own reports through e-FIR regarding the incident of theft to the concerned police station online. This service can be used only in cases of vehicle theft and simple theft in which:-
- Vehicle is stolen (less than 15 lahks)
- Simple theft (less than 1 lakh)
- The accused is unknown, and
- There is no injury/use of force in the incident
Citizens can register for e-FIR only by registering themselves on the Madhya Pradesh Police website or Citizen Portal https://citizen.mppolice.gov.in and login with a Registered ID. After registration of FIR on the said e-FIR application, the applicant will continue to receive the updated status of various stages of his FIR through SMS and e-mail.
